The Disappearance of Kayla Miller
Kayla Miller has been missing since April 13th, 2015. The young teen was last seen in Marietta, Georgia. She was only 13 years-old at the time of her disappearance.
According to Missing Persons in America, Kayla and her family members were staying in a hotel at the time of her disappearance. She reportedly left that morning from said hotel to walk to school but never arrived at any of her classes. Kayla also never returned to the hotel, and her family members have never seen or heard from her again.
Various sources state that authorities believe Kayla left on her own accord. It’s unknown what evidence, if any, investigators have to support the theory that she ran away. Some sources state that authorities believe Kayla might have stayed in the local area - but it’s unclear where, exactly, she could have gone or how she could have stayed hidden.
Over a decade has passed since Kayla’s disappearance, and she still remains classified as a runaway. There has been minimal news reporting on her disappearance, and details about her case are very scarce. Many questions remain - such as, why do police believe Kayla ran away? Why has the media seemingly ignored the case of a missing child? And is anyone still looking for her?
As of today, all of those questions remain unanswered, as Kayla remains missing. At the time of her disappearance, Kayla was 5’11” and approximately 150 lbs. If you have any information that could lead to Kayla’s whereabouts, please contact the Marietta Police Department at 770-794-5300.

The Disappearance of Ryan Esparza
![]() |
| Source: NCMEC |
Ryan Esparza has been missing since June 14th, 2007. The then-17-year-old left his home in Pasadena, Texas that day after receiving a phone call from a friend, asking him to meet up at a basketball court at Highlands Park. Ryan was expected back home that evening, but he never returned. He has never been seen or heard from again.
Ryan's mother reported him missing on June 15th. She also reached out to the friend Ryan was meeting at the park that day. Said friend told Ryan's mother that he and Ryan met up and shot hoops at the basketball court for about 20 minutes. Then, according to the friend, Ryan walked away to take a phone call and never returned.
Investigators searched a five-mile radius around the park but did not find any sign of Ryan. There also did not appear to be any evidence that Ryan ran away. He did not have a history of running away, nor did he have a history of mental illness. Ryan's loved ones do not believe he would walk away from his life. He had a girlfriend who was approximately six months pregnant with his child at the time of his disappearance. The baby, born a few months later, was named Ryan Jr. after his father.
As the months grew into years without any sign of Ryan, his disappearance grew into a cold case. His mother stated that she had heard rumors over the years that Ryan was accused of stealing marijuana from a childhood friend prior to his disappearance. However, it was reportedly not a large amount of marijuana. Ryan's mother also stated that investigators said they did not find any evidence that these rumors are linked to Ryan's disappearance.
Still, Ryan's mother has grown skeptical of the story told by the other friend with whom Ryan planned to meet at the park that day. In 2023, when asked if she believed the friend's story, Ryan's mother replied, "No, not anymore, because nobody else said he was at that park, so I don't know if he even made it there." This friend has never been publicly identified, and he has not been labeled a suspect.
Ryan remains missing today. If you have any information that could help solve his case, please contact the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221 or Pasadena Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).

The Disappearance of Atraya Berardi
![]() |
Atraya left the house with a bag of toiletries and her pet cat in a carrier. As such, she was classified as a runaway once her missing persons' case was opened. However, Atraya's other belongings, including her cell phone and laptop, were left behind.
Reports state that Atraya had only lived in Rockledge for a few months prior to her disappearance. Previously, she lived with her mother in Palatka, Florida. Atraya moved in with her aunt and uncle in Rockledge after her mother passed away in January 2024.
Atraya reportedly also had a history of running away when she lived in Palatka, but she was never gone for longer than a few days. This time around, Atraya has been gone for a significant length of time and there has been no trace of her since her disappearance. In July 2024, approximately 2 months after her disappearance, authorities announced that they believe Atraya is in danger.
The FBI is involved in the search for Atraya. She is described as a 5'4" female with brown hair and brown eyes. Her cat, which she brought with her, has gray fur and a deformed ear.
If you have any information that could help solve Atraya Berardi's disappearance, please contact the Rockledge Police Department at 321-690-3988 or submit a tip to the FBI.

The Abduction of Sophia Franklin
During February 2025, an AMBER Alert was issued in the states of Wisconsin, Arkansas and Missouri, for Sophia Franklin - a 16-year-old missing from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The teen girl was last seen at her family's home on the evening of February 2nd, 2025. The following morning, Sophia was gone. Her family contacted police shortly after realizing she wasn't at the residence.
It was immediately feared that Sophia left her house to meet up with Gary Day - a 40-year-old man with a history of abusing children. Sophia and Day reportedly began talking online in April 2024. On July 29th, 2024, Sophia told her parents she was going to stay with a friend in the Beaver Dam area. In reality, she was picked up by Day and driven to his residence in Austin, Arkansas.

| Gary Day. (ABC News) |
Day was already on probation at this point due to a child endangerment charge from 2020. A probation officer made a routine stop by Day's home during December 2024 and noticed a young girl running out of the back of the residence. It was eventually learned that the young girl was Sophia; a 16-year-old from Wisconsin. Sophia eventually told officers that she had been there since August and planned to marry Day.
Sophia's parents were reportedly shocked to learn of their daughter's relationship with Day, as they thought she had been staying with a friend in the local area. Sophia was subsequently returned to her family's home in Wisconsin. An order of protection was put in place, forbidding Day and Sophia to have contact.
At some point in the midst of all this, Sophia learned she was pregnant with Day's child. The child was conceived in Arkansas - where the age of consent is 16 - so Day was not charged with statutory rape. It's believed that Sophia was approximately 3 months along at the time the February 2025 AMBER alerts were issued.
Despite the order of protection, Day and Sophia continued to have contact via text and email after her return to Wisconsin. Then, in early February 2025, the two met up in person once again. Day drove to Wisconsin and was captured by home security cameras walking by the Franklin's house on the morning of February 3rd.

Shortly thereafter, Sophia was discovered to be missing from the home. An AMBER alert was immediately issued in the state of Wisconsin, asking the public to be on the lookout for a black 2014 Buick LaCrosse. The car had recently been seen using two different plates: Pennsylvania KGW5186 and Arkansas BBR20L.

The Disappearance of Janiyah Thompson
![]() |
| Source: Facebook |
Janiyah Thompson has been missing since April 25th, 2023. The then-18-year-old was last seen in Temple Hills, Maryland. Before vanishing, Janiyah told her brother she was headed off to take care of something. She never returned home, and her loved ones have never seen or heard from her again.
At the time of her disappearance, Janiyah was a student at Eastern Senior High School and a member of their ROTC program. There does not appear to be a lot of additional information about her life prior to her going missing; however, various reports describe Janiyah as a hardworking and responsible teenage girl. Due to this, Janiyah's disappearance came as a complete shock to her family members.
The day Janiyah vanished seemingly began as a typical day. She went to school that morning as usual. At some point before the school day ended, Janiyah messaged her older brother and said she was leaving early because she needed to go take care of something. She reportedly did not disclose what she needed to do, but her brother was initially not concerned due to Janiyah's intelligent and trustworthy nature.
By the time the next morning came, and Janiyah still had not returned home, her family began to worry. Several attempts were made to locate/reach Janiyah, but they ended unsuccessfully. As such, Janiyah's family contacted police to report her missing.
After she was reported missing, it was discovered that Janiyah was captured by surveillance cameras at Naylor Road Metro Station in Temple Hills shortly after leaving her school. At this time, it is unknown if she boarded a train or if she was seen with anyone at the station.
The sighting at the metro station is the last known trace of Janiyah before she vanished. Some reports about her disappearance state that authorities believe she might still be in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, but it is unknown why they might believe that. Janiyah did not have a history of running away prior to vanishing. According to her parents, it is incredibly out of character for her to stay out of touch.
The Prince George County Police Department is in charge of investigating Janiyah's disappearance. If you have any information that could lead to her whereabouts, please contact authorities at 301-352-1200.

The Disappearance of Sa'Wade Birdinground
Sa'Wade Birdinground has been missing since October 7th, 2024. The young teen was last seen around 11:00 PM the previous night at her family's house in Garryowen, Montana. When Sa'Wade's family went to wake her up the following morning, she was not in her bedroom; nor was she anywhere in or around the residence. Sa'Wade was subsequently reported missing.
Garryowen is a privately-owned town in Big Horn County, Montana. The specific area from which Sa'Wade vanished is a very rural area within the boundaries of the Crow Indian Reservation. Sa'Wade grew up on the reservation; she turned 13 years-old just a little over two weeks before her disappearance. Her family members describe her as a quiet girl with no history of running away. Reports state that Sa'Wade has autism, and that her disappearance is completely out of character.
Widespread searches were conducted for Sa'Wade, by both volunteers and professionals, but no sign of her was found. By October 20th, it was announced that the FBI had joined the search for Sa'Wade. At that time, it was also reported that Sa'Wade's phone, which she left behind, had been "handed off to the FBI for agents to recover recently cleared text messages and phone calls. Investigators are also looking at one additional phone call that may be the last person Sa’wade spoke with before vanishing."
It's unclear what other evidence the phone might have produced. Sa'Wade still remains missing. Authorities have kept quiet about their investigation due to its ongoing status. However, they are still appealing to the public for anyone with information about Sa'Wade's whereabouts to come forward.
If you have any information that could help solve Sa'Wade's disappearance, please contact the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office at (406) 665-9798 or submit a tip to the FBI.

The Disappearance of Rosalyn Velazquez
![]() |
| Source: Facebook |
Rosalyn Velazquez was only 15 years old when she vanished during the early-morning hours of August 24th, 2020. She was last seen leaving her residence in the Azalea Park area of Radcliff, Kentucky. Shortly thereafter, Rosalyn reportedly told a friend on Instagram Live "that she had taken some pills and was walking in nearby woods." She never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.
According to Rosalyn's mother, it was not unusual for Rosalyn to take walks late at night. She often traveled with her Chapstick and AirPods, but both items were left at home on the morning of her disappearance. Rosalyn also did not take her phone charger, extra clothes, or any other items that indicated she had run away. The only item that she did seemingly take with her was her prescribed medication.
Rosalyn was a student at North Hardin High School at the time of her disappearance. She was attending school online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The apartment complex where she was last seen is located within walking distance of the high school. Searches were reportedly conducted "in and around" the apartment complex and in the areas near her school. Detectives reportedly found no sign of Rosalyn.
Certain reports state that Rosalyn's phone "pinged in several different locations in the Radcliff area" after her disappearance. However, it's unclear where, exactly, the last ping occurred. It appears that the phone has since been disconnected.
There is very little information about the investigation into Rosalyn's disappearance. A 2023 report on her case states that there are "dozens and dozens of pages of information Radcliff detectives have looked at countless times over the years since Rosalyn Velazquez has gone missing." At this time, it's unknown if detectives have any primary theories or persons of interest in the case.
There is a monetary reward available for information that could lead to Rosalyn's whereabouts. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact the Radcliff Police Department at 270-351-4470.
