The Murder of Jamar Campbell

 

Jamar Campbell was beginning a new chapter in his life during October 2020. The young man lived in Chester, Pennsylvania and had recently turned 21 years old. Jamar also was a new father; his daughter was born during mid-October. According to family members, Jamar was dedicated to his new role in fatherhood. 

Unfortunately, just two weeks after his daughter was born, Jamar was found murdered in Chester. Reports state that police were called to McIlvain Street around 12:30 AM on October 28th, 2020. Once they arrived, they found a Toyota Camry that was still running. Inside the car was a young man who had been shot multiple times. That man - later identified as Jamar - was pronounced dead on the scene.

Jamar’s murder has been both devastating and baffling to his loved ones. In addition to caring for his newborn daughter, Jamar also spent a lot of time helping his other family members as well. He reportedly always took the trash out for his grandmother and assisted his family with other day-to-day needs such as mowing the lawn or shoveling snow if the need arose. It’s unclear why anyone would want to harm Jamar. No suspects or persons of interest have ever been announced in his case.

Years have passed, and Jamar’s murder still remains unsolved. His daughter never got the chance to get to know her father. Jamar’s entire family has been left without answers or justice.

The Disappearance of Tyshareen Budale

 

Tyshareen Budale has been missing since December 26th, 2020. The then-27-year-old woman was in Newark, New Jersey at the time of her disappearance. She was last seen near the 400 block of South 15th Street. 

Tyshareen reportedly made plans to spend New Year’s Eve with her father, but she never showed up. After a few weeks passed, it was determined that nobody had seen or heard from her since December 26th. Additionally, Tyshareen usually made daily posts on social media - but her online activity abruptly stopped around the time she went missing.

A missing persons’ report for Tyshareen was filed on January 23rd, 2021. By that time, it was revealed that her vehicle had been left behind. Despite all of these suspicious circumstances, Tyshareen’s case has received very little attention from the media. Details about her life and the events leading up to her disappearance are unknown. 

Tyshareen is described as a black woman who stands approximately 5’4” tall. At the time of her disappearance, she was approximately 170 to 180 lbs. Tyshareen also has a tattoo of a heart on her chest.

The Disappearance and Murder of Kristen Galvan

Kristen Galvan was only 15 years old when she vanished on January 2nd, 2020. She was last seen at her grandmother's home in Spring, Texas. Kristen left the home on the day of her disappearance and never returned. She was never seen alive by her loved ones again.

Despite the fact that Kristen left on her own accord, her loved ones immediately began to worry for her safety. Kristen's family members began to suspect that she had been sold into trafficking by an older boy whom she had been hanging out with prior to her disappearance. That boy was later identified as Aryion Jackson - a Houston-based rapper who used the stage name Yung Corleon. 

Kristen actually vanished with Jackson prior to January of 2020. During this time, Kristen's family learned that Jackson was also a pimp who had sex trafficked over a dozen girls and young women, including Kristen, at a house on Bissonnet Street. Kristen was at the house for about a week and a half before she was rescued. Unfortunately, she vanished again two and a half weeks later. 

Over the following years since this second disappearance, several leads were followed in an attempt to locate Kristen. Little did the family know, Kristen's remains had actually been found just weeks after she vanished. On January 29th, 2020, female human remains were found in Missouri City, Texas. Investigators were unable to identify the remains and subsequently labeled the unidentified female as "Jane Doe". 

It took several years, but during the summer of 2025, the human remains were finally identified as that of Kristen Galvan. After the remains were identified, investigators revealed that they believe Kristen was bound with duct tape before being stabbed to death. 

Kristen was a victim of murder, and her killer(s) have still yet to be apprehended. However, in the years that Kristen was murdered, many theories were investigated - from Kristen being trafficked in Atlanta, to someone claiming to be Kristen messaging a private investigator working the case. Now that it's known that Kristen has been deceased since 2020, many other questions have arisen...such as, who impersonated Kristen in 2021, and why? Why did it take so long for Kristen's remains to be identified? And perhaps the most haunting question: who killed Kristen?

Bissonnet Street.

As previously noted, Kristen was rescued from a house on Bissonnet Street just two and a half weeks before her January 2020 disappearance. When she vanished for a second time, her family inevitably wanted to investigate both the house and Aryion Jackson.

Kristen's family went to Bissonnet Street to search, but they saw no signs of her. Jackson was questioned, but he claimed that he did not have any knowledge of Kristen's whereabouts. In fact, he denied knowing Kristen altogether. Jackson was later sentenced to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex trafficking minors with force, fraud or coercion.

Jackson has not been charged with anything related to Kristen's current case. 

The Atlanta lead.

During the spring of 2021, authorities publicly announced that they, too, believe that Kristen is a victim of sex trafficking. In fact, people have reported that they've seen Kristen's picture on a website that is well-known for prostitution. Rumors also began to swirl that Kristen was being trafficked in Atlanta. 

A private investigator hired by Kristen's family traveled to Atlanta to follow these leads. She reportedly found some of the girls listed on the website, but she was unable to find Kristen. 

Latasha's testimony.

That same month, the private investigator was contacted by a woman named Latasha who claimed to have been held against her will and trafficked out of the same Atlanta house as Kristen. She mentioned that Kristen was pregnant at the time. Latasha said that she managed to escape from the traffickers and felt guilty about leaving Kristen behind. 

The private investigator noted that Latasha provided information about Kristen that "nobody else would have known". However, Latasha later spoke to the FBI, and her testimony was deemed as not credible. 

The baby.

At an unknown date in the spring/summer of 2021, the private investigator received a Facebook message from a person claiming to be Kristen. The messages said that she had borrowed a phone from a man who "did not know the rules". The message also said that she had just given birth in a Port-a-Potty and was forced to leave the baby behind, and she wanted her mom to go get the baby.

On June 3rd, 2021, a deceased infant was found in a Port-a-Potty in Houston, umbilical cord still attached. A test was requested to see if the baby's DNA was a match to Kristen's DNA. Four months later, the private investigator received a text saying that the DNA was not a match.

Other remaining questions.

Although the DNA from the deceased infant was reportedly not a match to Kristen, it seems odd that the private investigator never received the requested documentation with the DNA results. It also seems suspicious that the private investigator received a message that Kristen had given birth in a port-a-potty, and then a deceased infant was found in one. It's possible that someone was pretending to be Kristen - but who? And why?

The private investigator tried to get in touch with Latasha at a later date and learned that Latasha had passed away. She messaged some people on Latasha's Facebook friend list to see what happened. She was told by a friend that she was murdered, but Latasha's mother said that she had suffered an aneurism. 

The unidentified remains.

As previously noted, female human remains were found in Missouri County, Texas on January 29th, 2020 - just weeks after Kristen's disappearance. Investigators were unable to make an identification and labeled the deceased as a Jane Doe. 

Kristen's mother reportedly learned about said human remains during 2022, when she came across the Jane Doe's (now-deleted) NamUs profile. She subsequently asked law enforcement to test the remains' DNA to see if the body belonged to Kristen. The law enforcement officers working the case reportedly told Kristen's mother that they did not believe the remains belonged to Kristen. DNA was not tested at that time.

July 2025: DNA is finally tested.

In July 2025, Kristen's mother finally provided a DNA sample to be compared to the unidentified remains. The following month, Kristen's mother was notified that the DNA had been a match; the remains did, in fact, belong to Kristen Galvan. At that point, it was confirmed that Kristen had been a victim of murder of five years earlier.

No arrests have been made for Kristen's murder. The case is still ongoing. Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of Kristen's killer(s) is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at 936-760-5800.

The Disappearance of Jeremy Vasquez

 

Jeremy Vasquez has been missing since February 20th, 2020. The then 16-year-old was last seen at his family's home in Victoria, Texas. On the day of his disappearance, Jeremy walked into a wooded area behind his home with his dog. The dog later returned, but Jeremy did not. He has never been seen or heard from again. 

The day Jeremy vanished was a Thursday. He had school that day but did not go after waking up to a fight between his father and stepmother. A short time later, another disagreement prompted him to leave the residence, saying he needed to get some fresh air. Jeremy's stepmother said she saw him and his dog walking into the woods. This appears to be the last confirmed sighting of Jeremy.

Hours later, Jeremy's dog returned to the home without Jeremy. This was immediately worrisome to his loved ones, as it was uncharacteristic for him to separate from his dog while on a walk. Additionally, Jeremy did not have a history of running away, nor did he pack any of his personal belongings when he left the home.

Despite this, family members said that police treated Jeremy's case as a "routine runaway case" after he was reported missing. As such, Jeremy's disappearance did not receive much public attention. Family and friends then took matters into their own hands by spreading information about his disappearance on social media. Reward money was offered as well. Unfortunately, this did not appear to lead to any substantial tips.

In 2023, police finally reclassified Jeremy's case as an endangered missing child. Since then, though, no updates or information about the investigation have been publicly provided. A 2025 report on Jeremy's disappearance states that "local authorities and volunteers have conducted numerous searches over the years, but no significant leads have emerged."

Jeremy is described as a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was somewhere between 5'7"-6'0" and approximately 140 lbs. Suzanne Morphew (49) vanished on May 10th, 2020. The mother-of-two disappeared on Mother's Day. It was originally reported that she left her Maysville, Colorado home to go for a bike ride. Suzanne never returned home, and a neighbor reported her missing later that evening.

Initial searches for Suzanne ended unsuccessfully. Reports stated that search crews "of more than 100 investigators, eight tracking dogs and four drones, as well as members of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, South Ark Swiftwater Rescue and Reach Air Ambulance have been unable to find her." The only trace of Suzanne that was found was her bicycle, which was located in a nearby ravine shortly after she was reported missing. 

Suzanne's husband, Barry Morphew, put a $100,000 reward in place for anyone with information about Suzanne's whereabouts. That reward was later increased to $200,000 after a friend donated money to the case. Barry told police and loved ones that he was in Denver on the day she vanished - which is an approximate 3-hour drive away from their home in Maysville. 

However, in October 2020, new information about Barry's alleged alibi surfaced. It was originally reported that Barry was in the Denver area on the day Suzanne vanished. He said that he left the family's Maysville home during the early morning hours of May 10th, and then returned later that afternoon after learning of his wife's disappearance. Barry went to the Denver area to work on a landscaping job. He was hired by the president of the landscaping company, who also happens to be his close friend. 

However, Barry's name is reportedly not on any documentation related to this specific job. Additionally, the job was reportedly scheduled for Monday, May 11th - not Sunday, May 10th. In fact, the city did not issue a special permit for the work to be completed on a weekend, which would have been required for this particular job.

All of this information leads to many questions. Did Barry actually go to the Denver area that day? And if so, why did he go a whole a day earlier than necessary? Why did he lie about the date of the job? Suspicions had been cast on Barry since the beginning of the investigation - especially when it revealed that Suzanne was unhappy in their marriage and was having an affair with another man. She had reportedly begun a relationship with this man two years prior, while she was going through chemotherapy.

In May 2021, Barry Morphew was arrested and charged with Suzanne's murder. At that point, loved ones of Suzanne felt they were one step closer to getting answers. Unfortunately, though, this would end up being far from true.

Barry's arrest came nearly a year after Suzanne's disappearance. At the time, authorities did not disclose any other details, but they revealed that Barry is facing charges of first-degree murder, attempting to influence a public servant, and tampering with evidence. 

The spy pen.

Meanwhile, more and more speculation about what happened to Suzanne began to surface. It was revealed that Suzanne had been using a spy pen prior to her disappearance. The purpose of the pen was for Suzanne to record Barry so she could potentially catch him in an affair.

However, the pen would reveal to investigators that Suzanne was actually having an affair herself. The man with whom she was having an affair was eventually located and questioned. His alibi checked out and he was cleared of suspicion.

Other speculation.

The main theories that began to surface involved Barry being responsible. Some speculated that Barry killed Suzanne after she asked for a divorce, or after he found out about her affair. Barry himself speculated that Suzanne was taken by someone else, or that she was harmed by something in nature - possibly a mountain lion. 

Additionally, during the initial investigation into Suzanne's disappearance, detectives found empty tranquilizer darts and a tranquilizer needle in the Morphew's yard. Barry told police that he often used those tranquilizers to "sedate deer and remove their antlers to sell in his hunting business."

April 2022 update: charges dropped.

Almost a year after the arrest, a judge dismissed the first-degree murder charges against Barry Morphew in April 2022. This ruling came after the prosecution filed a motion to dismiss the charges without prejudice - which means Barry can be charged again at a later date. 

The prosecutor implied that they hoped to charge Barry again once after finding Suzanne's body. At that time, authorities said that they were close to finding her remains, but the snow is preventing them from doing so. Court documents state that authorities "zeroed in on a remote and mountainous area near the Morphew's home." Said area was covered in snow at the time this was reported. It's unclear if investigators ever got to search the area.

May 2023: Barry files a lawsuit, speaks out.

In May 2023, Barry filed a $15 million lawsuit claiming that he was falsely charged with his wife's murder. Shortly thereafter, Barry and his two daughters with Suzanne spoke to ABC News and proclaimed Barry's innocence. The daughters supported their father and stated that they never had a single inkling that he was involved in their mother's disappearance. 

September 2023: Remains found.

During September 2023, it was reported that authorities searched "an area of Moffat in Saguache County on an investigation not related to the Morphew investigation" when human remains were found. Days later, those remains were positively identified as that of Suzanne Morphew.

This area is located approximately 45 miles away from the Morphew home - which means that investigators were incorrect about their belief that Suzanne's body was hidden in a mountainous area near their home. However, her body was found in a shallow grave, and it was obvious that someone else had placed her in such location. 

April 2024: Suzanne's autopsy results are revealed.

After Suzanne's remains were discovered, investigators remained quiet about her cause and manner of death for months. Then, in April 2024, it was announced that Suzanne "died homicide by undetermined means in the setting of butorphanol, azaperone, and medetomidine (BAM) intoxication."

BAM is often found in the tranquilizers that Barry previously admitted to using at his home. This has obviously cast even more suspicion on Barry. In fact, Suzanne's loved ones told reporters that they are not surprised to learn that she was killed in such a way - as they had believed this to be the case from the start. 

June 2025: Barry is arrested again.

Approximately 14 months after Suzanne's autopsy results were revealed, another break in the case occurred: Barry Morphew was arrested again. In June 2025, authorities announced that they had apprehended Barry in Gilbert, Arizona. He was once again charged with first-degree murder in Suzanne's case.

It appears that this time around, investigators finally found the evidence they needed to move forward with the murder charges. Not only has Suzanne's body been found, her autopsy results and other records produced even more evidence that point to Barry's involvement. As previously noted, Suzanne had BAM in her system when she died. Prescription records from the Maysville area show that Barry Morphew was the only individual in that area who accessed BAM during the timeframe in which Suzanne was murdered.

Barry is currently behind bars as the case is pending.

The Disappearance and Death of Amanda Grazewski

Amanda Grazewski vanished during March 2020. The then-23-year-old was last seen alive in Derry, New Hampshire. At the time of her disappearance, Amanda was staying at a residence on Birch Street. Reports state that Amanda seemingly vanished from the residence overnight. She has never been seen or heard from again.

Amanda had struggled with drug addiction since she was a teenager. Due to this, Amanda's mother had custody of her young daughter. Reports indicate that Amanda tended to live a more transient lifestyle, but she never went more than a week without getting in touch with someone. According to family and friends, Amanda seemed to be doing better in early March 2020, which made her disappearance all the more baffling. 

The circumstances surrounding Amanda's disappearance are quite suspicious. It's reported that Amanda arrived at the residence in Birch Street with three or four other people on March 17th, 2020. She had a bag of clothes with her, in addition to her purse, phone, and other personal belongings. However, Amanda left all of those items behind when she reportedly left the residence in the middle of the night.

Initial clues: the Social Security Card.

At first, it seems that there were a few clues for police to work with in Amanda's case. Nine days after her disappearance, Amanda's Social Security card was found on the ground outside of Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire. The hospital is located approximately two miles away from Derry Street - where Amanda was last seen. 

However, there are no reports of Amanda checking into the hospital after March 17th, 2020, nor are there reports of anyone seeing her at that location. It's possible that the Social Security card was accidentally dropped there - but it's unclear if it was dropped by Amanda herself, or if someone else had the card in their possession. 

Other potential locations. 

According to reports, Amanda frequented several different areas in New Hampshire, including Manchester, Nashua, Hooksett, and Salem. Amanda's mother stated that Amanda struggled with homelessness at certain times. It could be theorized that Amanda was living homeless in one of these areas, but it does not appear that there have been any sightings of her at any location. 

It's also unknown how Amanda would have been able to travel to different areas. She did not have access to a vehicle. It does not appear that there are any records of her taking a cab/rideshare or any forms of public transportation. 

Additionally, Amanda's mother stated that it's uncharacteristic of Amanda to stay out-of-touch for more than a week. Due to this, it seems even more suspicious that Amanda left her cell phone behind at the residence in Derry. It also seems unlikely that she would not try to find a way to contact her loved ones.

Police looked at Amanda's cell phone for potential clues as well. Reports state that there were messages sent to an unknown person about Amanda wanting to move to Salem. When investigators attempted to trace the phone number, they found that it was from an untraceable prepaid phone. 

Amanda's mother told reporters that other people inside the Birch Street residence were using Amanda's cell phone before it seized by investigators. She also said that Amanda had a laptop at the time of her disappearance that has never been recovered. This inevitably raises even more suspicions about the people Amanda was with prior to vanishing. 

Amanda's friends and associations.

Detectives stated that they have spent several hours conducting interviews and investigating those who were friends and/or acquaintances of Amanda's at the time of her disappearance. However, no persons of interest or suspects have ever been publicly announced. 

As previously noted, Amanda struggled with drug addiction and at times, homelessness. There's also been some online speculation that Amanda was involved with a known drug dealer in the area, but it's unclear if this has ever been confirmed. If true, it's possible that this plays a role in her disappearance.

In 2021, The Vanished Podcast covered Amanda's disappearance. During the episode, it was revealed that Amanda was involved in prostitution. This leads to even further questions: was Amanda harmed by a client? Or does trafficking play a role in her disappearance? 

A friend of Amanda's spoke on the podcast episode. She stated that someone heard a girl screaming "HELP" around the time Amanda disappeared. This feeds into the most prominent theory: that the people inside the Birch Street home know what happened to Amanda. 

Some have speculated that Amanda was harmed by someone inside the house. Others believe that Amanda overdosed at the residence, and then her body was hidden. Police have revealed very little details about their investigation, so it's unclear if they have a prevailing theory at this time.

Remains found.

Five years after her disappearance, on March 20th, 2025, a drone was flown over Hoodkroft Country Club. The drone was flown over the country club's golf course after investigators received a tip regarding Amanda's disappearance. At some point, the drone pilot spotted something of interest. Police were called, and it turned out the "something of interest" that the pilot spotted was, in fact, human remains.

Days later, it was confirmed that those remains were that of Amanda Grazewski. The discovery of her remains marks the end of the heartbreaking search for her loved ones, however they are now left with questions about what happened to her. 

Where the case stands today.

As of right now, the investigation into Amanda's death is ongoing.

The Disappearance of Benita Woody

Benita Woody has been missing since August 5th, 2020. The then-42-year-old woman lived in McKinney, Texas at the time of her disappearance. Benita was last seen near her residence on the morning she vanished. She was driving her gray GMC Yukon. Benita never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again. 

Hours after that last sighting, police in a rural area of Candian County, Oklahoma found said GMC Yukon abandoned on Westbound Interstate 40. It was determined that the car was registered to Benita Woody - but at that time, she was not a missing person. As a result, police tagged the car and just left it where it was found. After five days passed, and the vehicle still remained, police had it towed. 

At the time the car was towed - on August 10th, 2020 - Benita still had not been reported missing. She lived alone at the time of her disappearance, as her children were grown and lived out of state. Due to this, it took over a week for family members and friends to piece together that Benita had seemingly vanished without a trace. She was finally reported missing to the McKinney Police on August 14th, 2020.

Throughout the investigation, detectives in McKinney learned that Benita's GMC Yukon had been found abandoned, and was towed, in Canadian County, Oklahoma. It was eventually determined that her cell phone pinged off a tower in Canadian County on August 5th. This is the last known sign of Benita on any electronic trail. 

It's worth noting that the area where Benita's car was found is an approximate three-and-a-half-hour drive away from McKinney. It's unknown why Benita would travel there, or if she even drove the vehicle there herself. Her family noted that a half-eaten burrito was found in the car - which they insist did not belong to Benita, as she did not eat burritos. There was also no further sign of Benita in or around the vehicle.

Years have passed, and Benita still remains missing. Her family is still searching for answers in her case. Authorities in both Texas and Oklahoma are investigating Benita's disappearance. The Murder of Ahmad 'Nuru' Hempstead

Ahmad Hempstead was brutally murdered in broad daylight on November 20th, 2020. The 48-year-old man was working as a handyman in Sacramento, California at the time he was killed. Ahmad was attacked while on a remodeling job at an apartment unit at La Pera Court. He died after being stabbed in the back with a "large machete-type knife."

Before Ahmad began working as a handyman, he was a professional boxer known as 'Nuru'. Although he was trained to fight, Ahmad's family notes that he was a gentle and kind man who did not have any known enemies. A motive for his brutal killing remains unknown.

Ahmad's family continues to fight for answers and justice to this day. Both his sisters and son have spoken to local media, appealing to the public for anyone with information to come forward. Unfortunately, at this time no arrests have been made, nor have any suspects or persons of interest been publicly identified.

The Murder of Jennifer Janelle Jesse

Jennifer Janelle Jesse was found murdered in Union City, Oklahoma on March 11th, 2020. The 29-year-old woman's body was spotted by a passerby on SW 44th Street near Gregory Road. Police were called to the scene, and it was determined that the deceased woman had died from multiple gunshot wounds. Her death was quickly labeled as a murder.

Two days later, investigators officially identified the murder victim as Jennifer Jesse. The young woman was one of five siblings and a mother to three young children. Jennifer's death has left her family and friends with both grief and unanswered questions. 

Local news ran a few reports/articles about Jennifer's case during the early weeks of the investigation. On March 30th, 2020, the OSBI released pictures of a man believed to have information about Jennifer's case. The images were pulled from surveillance cameras at the Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store on S. Western Avenue in Oklahoma City.

The footage was reportedly captured on March 2nd, 2020 - over a week before Jennifer was found murdered. It is unclear how, exactly, investigators connected this man to Jennifer's case. In 2021, it was being reported that authorities still wanted to speak to this man. A public appeal was made for anyone who recognized this man to come forward.

Since then, there has been very little news about Jennifer's case. As of today, it is still classified as an unsolved murder. A monetary reward is available in exchange for information that could help solve the case.

The Disappearance of Rosalyn Velazquez

Rosalyn Velazquez was only 15 years old when she vanished during the early-morning hours of August 24th, 2020. She was last seen leaving her residence in the Azalea Park area of Radcliff, Kentucky. Shortly thereafter, Rosalyn reportedly told a friend on Instagram Live "that she had taken some pills and was walking in nearby woods." She never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.

According to Rosalyn's mother, it was not unusual for Rosalyn to take walks late at night. She often traveled with her Chapstick and AirPods, but both items were left at home on the morning of her disappearance. Rosalyn also did not take her phone charger, extra clothes, or any other items that indicated she had run away. The only item that she did seemingly take with her was her prescribed medication.

Rosalyn was a student at North Hardin High School at the time of her disappearance. She was attending school online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The apartment complex where she was last seen is located within walking distance of the high school. Searches were reportedly conducted "in and around" the apartment complex and in the areas near her school. Detectives reportedly found no sign of Rosalyn.

Certain reports state that Rosalyn's phone "pinged in several different locations in the Radcliff area" after her disappearance. However, it's unclear where, exactly, the last ping occurred. It appears that the phone has since been disconnected. 

There is very little information about the investigation into Rosalyn's disappearance. A 2023 report on her case states that there are "dozens and dozens of pages of information Radcliff detectives have looked at countless times over the years since Rosalyn Velazquez has gone missing." At this time, it's unknown if detectives have any primary theories or persons of interest in the case.

The Disappearance and Murder of Jaylen Griffin

Jaylen Griffin vanished on August 4th, 2020. The young boy was only 12 years old at the time of his disappearance. Jaylen's family members last saw him near his home on Warren Avenue in Buffalo, New York. 

The day he vanished; Jaylen took his new puppy for a walk in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood. Shortly after he returned home, he told his mother he was going out again. Jaylen's mother assumed he would return soon, but he never did.

Jaylen reportedly left his home around 11:00 AM, and he did not tell his mother where he was going. He was known to frequent nearby stores in the area so he could help people carry their grocery bags. Jaylen's mother initially thought he was doing that on the day of his disappearance. However, when he did not return home, his family members began to think that something was wrong. 

According to sources close to Jaylen's family, he was not the type to go far from home or to stay out late.  There were reported sightings of him around the Buffalo area in the months following his disappearance, and authorities stated that they believed he may still be in the area. In November 2020, three months after Jaylen vanished, his older brother Jawaan Griffin was shot and killed. Many thought that the news of his brother's passing would encourage Jaylen to return home, but he didn't--nor did he contact his family at all. 

Despite all of this, authorities reportedly still maintained their belief that Jaylen was alive. An article from April 2021 quotes Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo, who stated, "we have no information that leads us to believe he is in immediate danger. I mean the fact of his age and the fact that he is not under his parental supervision is obviously dangerous to begin with, but we do not believe that he was abducted or taken against his will." 

Then, in 2024, that all changed. A maintenance man working at a multi-unit house on 107 Sheffield Avenue found a body in the attic. That body was later identified as Jaylen Griffin. His death was labeled a homicide. 

The house where Jaylen was found is approximately five miles away from his home. Neighbor in that area told reporters that police had responded to that house "several times" over the years. At this time, police have not named any suspects or persons of interest in Jaylen's case.

Jaylen's mother passed in September 2023, before learning of her son's fate. His remaining family members are hoping to find justice. The investigation is ongoing, and there is a monetary reward available for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Jaylen's homicide.

The Disappearance of Cieha Taylor

Cieha Taylor vanished under suspicious circumstances on February 6th, 2020. The then-28-year-old was reportedly last seen leaving a residence on Cowart Road in Plant City, Florida. Cieha never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.

Reports state that Cieha drove her boyfriend to the Cowart Road residence on the day of her disappearance. She and her boyfriend then allegedly got into a fight, and she subsequently left the residence around 4:00 PM. According to a report from News Nation, Cieha called a friend crying about the fight. She made plans to go to said friend's house, but never arrived.

A few hours later, Hillsborough County Dispatch received a call about an abandoned car that was blocking traffic on railroad tracks near East Trapnell Road. When police arrived on the scene, they found the vehicle with the engine running and the driver's side door opened. A cell phone was found nearby on the ground and a wallet found was inside the car. The officers pulled the car over to the shoulder, turned it off, and left the cell phone and the keys inside. 

The vehicle - a black two-door Toyota Solara - belonged to Cieha. It had been abandoned an approximate mile away from the Cowart Road residence where Cieha was last seen. The car was left on the shoulder for three days before one of Cieha's friends went to that location and found the car abandoned with Cieha's belongings inside. 

By this point, it was determined that nobody has seen or heard from Cieha since February 6th. This was inevitably worrisome to Cieha's loved ones, and a missing person's report was subsequently filed. It was then that Cieha's family learned that police had actually moved the car to the spot after it was initially found abandoned, while the engine was running, in the middle of the road. Despite those suspicious circumstances, it appears that police did not attempt to identify or contact the owner of the vehicle at the time it was found. 

Investigative efforts by both police and Cieha's loved ones have not turned up any answers. In 2022, police told reporters that they were at a "dead end" with the case. Since then, there have been very few media updates. However, there has been some information provided by various online and local sources that shed more light on the events surrounding Cieha's disappearance.

The Finding Cieha page on Facebook has been spreading awareness about Cieha's case for years. On February 6th, 2024, the 4-year anniversary of when Cieha was last seen, a post was made describing the events surrounding her disappearance. 

The post identifies Cieha's boyfriend as Jason Roberts, also known as J.D. The Cowart Road residence that Cieha allegedly brought J.D. to on the day of her disappearance belongs to the family of J.D.'s friend, Kevin Ring. Various news reports indicate that J.D. was living at the residence during February of 2020. 

The Facebook post notes that the family was told Cieha left the Cowart Road residence "upset and yelling". Kevin Ring's father told Cieha's family members that he saw her car driving away from the house. However, the Facebook post also states, "No other information has been given to us as to what conspired that day, or if she even was actually at that house. No proof has been given she was there or left. Only the three statements."

It's worth noting that news reports have stated that Cieha called a friend about the alleged fight between her and JD. If this phone call did, in fact, take place, then it seems that the fight can be corroborated. Still, the events that followed this argument still seem a bit unclear. 

The Facebook post states that Kevin Ring's father saw Cieha leave the residence at 4:00 PM. Three hours later, the post explains, Cieha's car was found abandoned just a mile away:

As previously noted, police did not attempt to contact Cieha or anyone else after finding her car abandoned on East Trapnell Road. Reports state that the officers who moved the vehicle simply thought the driver would return. However, it seems quite odd that anyone would voluntarily abandon their car in the middle of the road while it was still running.

The car remained untouched on the shoulder until February 9th, 2020. That evening, according to the Facebook post, J.D.'s mother Lisa was bringing clothes to J.D. at the Ring's house when she recognized Cieha's car abandoned on the shoulder. Lisa subsequently reached out to Cieha's mother, Canitha Taylor.

Around the same time, J.D. reached out to Cieha's friend, Tiffany Hall. Tiffany went to the car's location herself and called AAA to have the doors unlocked. She then drove the car to Canitha's house in Pasco County.

By the time Cieha's car made it to her mother's house, her cell phone was dead. Her friend charged the phone and found messages between Cieha and J.D. that indicated they were in an argument. Cieha's last outgoing message was to J.D., and it read, "you sent your wyt supremacists (sic) friends to deal with me you think you are so smart I'm smart."

Investigating Cieha's disappearance. 

Cieha's friends met up with authorities the following day to explain all the suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of Cieha's vehicle- namely, the fact that Cieha herself was still nowhere the be found. After this, Cieha's missing persons' case was finally opened. 

Flyers about Cieha's disappearance were handed out and posted around the area. Police interviewed several people, including J.D. and Kevin Ring. Still, no suspects or persons of interest have been identified. 

According to Cieha's page on The Charley Project, Cieha's "shoes were found in a drainage pipe near the road where her car had been abandoned" about three weeks after her disappearance. The shoes were found "next to a telephone pole that had a missing persons flier about her hanging on it." 

The Charley Project also states that Cieha's mother "believes the shoes were deliberately placed there some time after she went missing; she stated the area had been previously searched multiple times."

In August 2020, an investigator in Cieha's case went on a podcast and said that Cieha's vehicle had been searched thoroughly. Fingerprints were found, but they all reportedly belonged to "people known to have been in the vehicle."

Where the case stands.

As previously noted, investigators told reporters that they were at a "dead end" in the case during 2022. Since then, very few updates in Cieha's case have been provided. 

There is still a lot of speculation that both J.D. and Kevin Ring are responsible for Cieha's disappearance, but at this time, neither have been charged with anything related to her case. It appears that investigators have not been able to find enough evidence to prove their involvement. It is unknown if any other persons of interest have been looked into by authorities.
