It is always eerie when a person seemingly vanishes without a trace. However, the circumstances leading up to the disappearance can add yet another frightening layer to the case. There are many cases in which a person has gone missing after getting into an argument with someone. In such cases, many questions are raised, such as: Was this argument a continuation of an ongoing problem in the missing person's home life? If so, did they run away? Did the person go missing at a time when their emotional state was heightened, therefore making them more susceptible to danger? Or, perhaps the most common question in these cases: Is the individual who the missing person fought with responsible for their disappearance?
Below is a list of 8 such cases of people who vanished after getting into a fight with someone. All of the cases remain unsolved today.
8. Pshara 'Shara' Jones
Pshara ‘Shara’ Jones vanished at the age of 20 on September 21st, 2015. She was last seen leaving her family’s home in Claremore, Oklahoma after an argument with her mother. 6. Kortne Stouffer
Kortne Stouffer vanished after an argument with neighbors at her Palmyra, Pennsylvania apartment during the early-morning hours of July 29th, 2012. Kortne grew angry with her neighbors on the evening of July 28th, after police were called to the 21 year-old's apartment on a noise complaint. Kortne and her 20 year-old boyfriend, Bradley, were throwing a party at the apartment at the time. Bradley was arrested upon the police's arrival, as he was already on probation and house arrest for driving under the influence while underage. Kortne was infuriated by the arrest, and her friends attempted to calm her down by taking her downtown for a night out.
Unfortunately, Kortne's mood did not improving upon going out, and she was eventually kicked out of a bar for getting into a screaming match with a couple. Kortne and her friend Cody Pruett walked back to her apartment, where they encountered her neighbors. Kortne began screaming and yelling at them. One of those neighbors was a 44 year-old man named Todd Saksek, who lived in the apartment below Kortne. Witnesses said that they saw Todd and Kortne standing “chest-to-chest”, screaming at each other. The police were called for a second time and arrived around 3am. They did knock on Todd’s door before leaving the building, but he did not answer the door. Cody said that he fell asleep shortly after the stomping stopped and he woke up later that morning around 7:30am, Kortne was gone. She has not been seen or heard from again.
There are no known persons-of-interest in Kortne's disappearance. Cody was thoroughly interrogated and ultimately cleared of suspicion. Jasmine Moody vanished after arguing with her girlfriend Brittany Gurley on the evening of December 4th, 2014. At the time, the 18 year-old college student was visiting spending Thanksgiving break with her girlfriend Brittany's family in Detroit, Michigan. Both Jasmine and Brittany were students at Texas Women's University, and Jasmine is originally from Texas herself. On the evening of her disappearance, Jasmine and Brittany reportedly got into an argument over something Brittany saw on Jasmine’s Facebook. Brittany’s mother, Sonia, claims that she witnessed Brittany storming out of the house to blow off steam during the argument, and then a few minutes later, she witnessed Jasmine storming out of the house as well. Sonia states that Jasmine had her belongings with her, which suggested that she intended to leave. Brittany, who was still outside, claims that she encountered Jasmine and encouraged her to come back inside—stating that it was dangerous for her to be wandering around Detroit since she was unfamiliar with the area. In an effort to get Jasmine to stay, Brittany claims she grabbed Jasmine’s belongings from her and headed back to the house, expecting Jasmine to follow. However, Brittany claims that Jasmine did not follow her and that when she returned outside, Jasmine was nowhere to be found.
Jasmine’s mother, Lisa, does not believe Sonia or Brittany’s stories. Lisa maintains that it does not make sense that Jasmine would attempt to leave the night of the 4th when she was already scheduled to fly back to Texas the next day. She also does not believe that Jasmine would wander the streets of an unfamiliar city by herself. Lisa does believe, however, that Sonia and Brittany know what happened to Jasmine on that night and have not been forthcoming to police.
