The Disappearance of Stacey Lynch

Stacey Lynch has been missing since December 23rd, 2020. The then-19-year-old was last seen at his grandmother’s residence in Talladega, Alabama. Stacey left the residence in the evening after saying he was going to meet up with someone. He never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.

Stacey’s loved ones began to worry when they were unable to contact him. Those fears escalated when Stacey did not return home for Christmas or New Years. It’s uncharacteristic for him to vanish without contacting his family—especially his young children. Knowing this, Stacey’s family members fear that somebody harmed him.

During March 2021, investigators went to another nearby county to follow up on leads. While there, investigators discovered a burned-out vehicle that might be related to Stacey’s disappearance. The Talladega Police Chief explained, “there is a vehicle that was recovered that was burned that we believe is connected with the case. As part of the investigation, there is some video from a surrounding area that shows portions of what happened with this vehicle, so investigators are going through that video.” Police have not revealed how they connected the vehicle to Stacey, or the contents of the video—likely because they want to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Stacey remains missing today. If you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts, please contact the Talladega Police Department at (256) 362-4162.
