The Disappearance and Presumed Homicide of Jerome Johnson

Jerome Johnson has been missing since March 30th, 2016. The 58 year-old was last seen in Jacksonville, Florida, where he lived in the 1300 block of West 22nd Street. Jerome had only lived there for a few months at the time of his disappearance. He was discovered to be missing on April 1st, 2016, when his landlady went to his home to collect his rent. The landlady had unsuccessfully attempted to contact Jerome numerous times before she decided to enter his apartment. Upon entering, she stumbled upon a frightening scene: there was blood all over Jerome's bedroom, and Jerome himself was nowhere to be found.

The landlady called police, and investigators arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. Once the scene was investigated, it was determined that the amount of blood found in Jerome's bedroom was enough to indicate that a homicide had occurred. However, Jerome himself has not been located, nor have any suspects been identified. Police have revealed very little information about the investigation.

In July 2019, human remains were found in a wooded area off Utsey Road--located just 8 miles away from Jerome's residence. This inevitably lead to speculation that the remains might belong to Jerome. The remains were ultimately identified as that of Corbin Johnson--an 18 year-old who had vanished a year earlier. Corbin is also believed to be a victim of murder. A write up on his case can be found here.

It's unknown if investigators believe that Jerome and Corbin's cases are related, but they did occur within close proximity of each other, and both cases remain unsolved. Jerome remains missing today. If you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts, please submit an anonymous tip.
