The Disappearance of Jonas Nelson

Jonas Nelson vanished at the age of 19 on January 7th, 2019.

Jonas lived in Pasadena, California at the time of his disappearance. On January 6th, 2019, Jonas and his father went for a hike near Chaney Trail in Altadeta. It's unclear if he vanished while on the hike or at some point after, but Jonas never returned home. His father reported him missing the following day.

Jonas' loved ones were immediately concerned for his safety. Jonas suffers from both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and it does not appear that he had any medication with him at the time he disappeared. On January 20th, 2019, an acquaintance reportedly saw and spoke with Jonas in the 300 block of East Sacramento Street. The acquaintance told police about this encounter, and as a result, it was reported that Jonas had been recovered. However, Jonas' family had still not seen or heard from him, and there have been no other signs of him since that reported sighting. He was eventually re-listed as a missing person and remains at that classification today.

Jonas' loved ones are still searching for answers. If you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts, please go here to submit an anonymous tip.
