The Disappearance and Murder of April Parker

April Parker was reported missing in Monticello, New York on May 26th, 2014. Prior to her disappearance, the 31-year-old woman was living on Terry Lane in Monticello. Around two weeks after April was reported missing, skeletonized remains were found in a wooded area behind the Sleepy Hollow apartment complex - not far from April's home.

It took over a month for the remains to be identified, but on July 25th, 2014, the remains were positively identified as that of April Parker. Investigators classified her death as a homicide.

At first, April's cause of death was not publicly revealed. However, investigators did announce that they did not believe that April's murder was a random act of violence. They believed she was killed by somebody she knew. Still, years passed without any suspects publicly announced in the case.

Finally, in 2021, a major break occurred. A man named Keymarro Guiden was arrested and charged with the second-degree murder of April Parker. Guiden and April were involved in a romantic relationship; Guiden is the father of April's youngest son. He was reportedly person of interest since the onset of the investigation.

After Guiden's arrest, it was announced that investigators believe he killed and dismembered April. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case is currently pending.
