Mayushi Bhagat has been missing since May 1st, 2019. Prior to her disappearance, the 25 year-old young woman was very close to starting a brand new chapter in her life. Mayushi grew up in Vadadora, Gujarat, India but moved to the United States in 2016. She lived with her parents in Jersey City, New Jersey while she pursued a master's degree in electrical engineering from the New York Institute of Technology. By the spring of 2019, Mayushi was very close to graduating, and she had already accepted a job in California that she planned to begin once she completed her coursework.
Mayushi's family members last heard from her on May 1st, 2019. Her father reached out to her via text message, and he got a response stating that she was fine but wanted to be left alone, and that she would return home on May 3rd. Unfortunately, Mayushi never actually returned home and was never seen or heard from again.
Mayushi is considered missing under suspicious circumstances and foul play has not been ruled out. In fact, Mayushi's family members do not actually believe the texts they received from her phone on May 1st came from Mayushi herself. The texts reportedly contained broken English, which was uncharacteristic of Mayushi's usual texting style--as she was fluent in English.
There are very few details about the investigation into Mayushi's disappearance. Her case is currently being investigated by the Jersey City Police Department. If you have any information that could lead to her whereabouts, please contact 201-547-5477.
