The above image on the left is the last-known image of Nicole Coleman (23), who vanished on December 28th, 2018. The image is from surveillance footage captured at a Kool Korner gas station near her home in Austin, Texas. Three days later, on New Year’s Day, Nicole’s naked body was found in the woods off of Ed Bluestein Blvd. The spot she was found takes approximately ten minutes to walk to from the gas station where she was last seen.
Nicole’s death is being investigated as a homicide. Investigators stated that Nicole’s body had obvious signs of trauma, however they have not released her exact cause of death at this time. It also appears that investigators do not have any persons of interest at this time, and it is unclear if Nicole’s death was random, or if she was targeted. Nicole moved to Austin a just few months before her death. According to her family members, she was struggling with her mental health and had been receiving treatment shortly before she was killed.
Austin PD is asking for anyone who might have seen Nicole at the gas station or on another occasion in the days before her death to come forward. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact authorities at 512-472-8477.
