Brookelyn Farthing (18) has been missing from Berea, Kentucky since June 22nd, 2013. On the night prior to her disappearance, Brookelyn attended a party with her cousin and sister. Early into the night, her cousin and sister decided to leave the party early, and Brookelyn arranged to get a ride home from a friend later. However, Brookelyn and said friend apparently got into an argument, and the friend left without her. Brookelyn then caught a ride with a male acquaintance named Joshua Hensley, and the two went to his house. While there, Brookelyn texted several different people asking them to come pick her up. Her ex-fiance said he would pick her up after he got off work that morning, to which Brookelyn replied, “please hurry, I’m scared.”
Around 5:30am, her ex-fiance received another text from Brookelyn’s phone, stating “nevermind, I’m okay. I am going to a party in Rockcastle County.” As a result, the ex-fiance never went to pick Brookelyn up and she never returned home after that. Hensley allegedly left his home early that morning to go move some horses in a nearby field. He claims that he returned to his house around 7am to find the couch where Brookelyn was sitting on fire, and Brookelyn was gone. However, her purse and some pieces of her clothing were left behind. The fire was deemed “suspicious” by investigators.
Police believe that Brookelyn was taken against her will. They also believe that the final text message from Brookelyn’s phone about the party in Rockcastle County was actually sent by somebody else. Despite extensive searches, no trace of Brookelyn has been found. Her case remains open and active.
No s*** a random couch fire is suspicious. He obviously started it himself to probably cover up where he killed her.
