The Disappearance of William Chapman (aka Vanity Vuitton)

William Ray Chapman vanished in Wichita, Kansas on December 8th, 2008.

Prior to his disappearance, the then-24-year-old reportedly had a very active social life. William enjoyed going to gay nightclubs - especially one particular club called Fantasy in Wichita. He occasionally wore wigs and used the drag name Vanity Vuitton. William was also pursuing both music and video blogging.

In 2008, social media was still in its early stages. YouTube had only been introduced to the internet three years prior; the term "video blogger", or it's shortened version, "vlogger" was not anywhere near as widespread as it is today. William had the potential to become one of the first established vloggers - but he unfortunately vanished before he ever had the chance.

Many reports state that William's family and friends do not believe he vanished on his own accord. Other than that, though, there are very few details available about the events leading up to his disappearance. It's known that he was last seen in Wichita. Some reports note that William "may be" driving a 2002 black Ford - but the model of said vehicle appears to be unknown. Further details about William's disappearance have not been publicly shared.

Several years have passed without any updates in William's case. His disappearance has been labeled as a cold case by the Wichita Police and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. If you have any information that could lead to William's whereabouts, please contact authorities at 316-268-4387 or submit a tip online.
