Emily Benjamin has been missing since September 2022. The then-34-year-old lived in Culpeper, Virginia at the time of her disappearance. Emily's last known contact occurred during the early morning hours of September 2nd, 2022. She has never been seen or heard from again.
The Culpeper Police Department got in touch with Emily around 2:00 AM on the morning of September 2nd after a welfare check was requested. During her conversation with police, Emily stated that she was fine; she was simply on a road trip and would return home in two weeks. According to reports, Emily was in Falls Church, Virginia during that conversation. Her whereabouts and actions after that remain a mystery to this day.
It is unknown who requested the welfare check on Emily, or why it was requested. It is also unknown if Emily was in the company of anyone at the time she spoke to police. Two weeks came and passed, but she never returned home from the road trip.
On September 20th, 2022, Emily's car was found abandoned in the parking lot of an Auto Zone in Sterling, Virginia. Sterling is just about 20 miles away from Falls Church, where Emily was last known to be, and about 60 miles away from her home in Culpeper. It is unknown if Emily herself parked the car in Sterling.
