The Disappearance of Athena Curry

Athena Curry has been missing since May 27th, 2011. 

The then-20-year-old woman was last seen in Atlanta, Georgia, at the home of her on-and-off boyfriend and father of her infant child, Yusif Mujahid. A few days after Athena was last seen, Yusif called her sister Aisha Magee and told her to have Athena call him. Aisha explained that she was not with Athena, and that she thought Yusif was the last person to see her. Yusif claimed that Athena stormed out of his home after an argument during the early-morning hours of May 27th. She reportedly never returned and has never been seen or heard from again.

According to Athena's loved ones, her relationship with Yusif was troubled. Yusif was reportedly abusive towards Athena. In fact, Aisha stated that Yusif tasered Athena at the hospital very shortly after she gave birth to their son. He also reportedly beat her while she was pregnant. Yusif, on the other hand, claimed that Athena was abusive towards him.

Athena's family members do not believe that Athena left Yusif's house on her own accord. It is uncharacteristic of her to leave without telling anyone, especially without her son. Many people believe that Yusif is responsible for Athena's disappearance, however at this time investigators have stated that they do not have any hard evidence of foul play.
