The Disappearance of Naomi Irion

Authorities in Lyon County, Nevada are searching for Naomi Irion (18), who has been missing since March 12th, 2022. Naomi was last seen at a Wal-Mart in Fernley. She drove to the Wal-Mart shortly before 5 AM, and from there, she planned to catch a shuttle bus to her job at Panasonic. However, Naomi never showed up to work, nor did she return home.

Naomi’s worried family members called police after realizing she was missing. Police then looked at surveillance footage from the Wal-Mart where she was last seen. The footage revealed that Naomi was likely abducted from the parking lot in her own car. At this point, the footage has not been released—but reports state that the surveillance video “shows a person walking from a nearby homeless camp and lurking around vehicles, before getting into the driver’s seat of [Naomi’s] car, and then driving away with Naomi in the passenger seat.”

It is believed that the unidentified person either said or showed something to Naomi that prompted her to move to the passenger side of her vehicle. She has not been seen or heard from again.

On Tuesday, March 15th, Naomi’s car was found abandoned at a nearby industrial park. Police have not disclosed what was found in the car, but they did say that they found evidence that suggests Naomi "vanished due to a crime". Authorities also stated that a man driving a dark Chevrolet High Country pickup truck may have information that could lead to Naomi's whereabouts.

Naomi's parents live in South Africa. Naomi herself just moved to the Reno area in 2021. Her loved ones are desperately hoping for her safe recovery. If you have any information that could help find Naomi, please call the Lyon County Sheriff's Department at (775) 575-3350.
-
UPDATE (March 22nd, 2022):

Police have released additional video footage of the suspect in Naomi's kidnapping. The footage, which can be seen here, shows the man pacing back and forth in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Police stated that the man has a unique walk which may help identify him.

At this time, the footage of the actual abduction has not been released. Naomi remains missing and the search for both her and her kidnapper continues.

-
UPDATE (March 26th, 2022)

A 41-year-old man named Troy Driver has been arrested and charged with kidnapping Naomi Irion. Authorities have not yet revealed many details about how they identified Driver as a suspect, but it is believed he is the driver of the pickup truck that authorities stated was involved in Naomi's disappearance.

News reports from earlier this week state that Naomi went on a date the night before her disappearance. Also, during 2021, Naomi disclosed that she was being sexually harassed at work. At this time, it is unclear if these circumstances are related to Driver or to Naomi's kidnapping. She remains missing.

-

UPDATE (March 31st, 2022):

Naomi's remains have been found.

Her body was found at a gravesite in Churchill County, Nevada. Naomi's cause of death has not been determined but the manner of death has been labeled homicide. Troy Driver remains behind bars on the kidnapping charges, and it's possible that murder charges will be added in the near future.

-

UPDATE (April 2nd, 2022):

As predicted, Troy Driver has been charged with Naomi's murder. His exact charges include open murder with use of a deadly weapon, robbery, burglary, and destruction of evidence.

The Murder of Olivia Bergstrom

Olivia Bergstrom was only 20 years-old when she was brutally murdered by her boyfriend, Benjamin Walsh, on February 10th, 2018. The couple lived together in an apartment in Needham, Massachusetts. It was there that Benjamin savagely stabbed Olivia to death.

Afterwards, Benjamin left Olivia’s body in their apartment and drove to a restaurant in Millis, where his family was having a gathering. Armed with a knife, Benjamin attacked his mother and stabbed her in the stomach. Then, he attacked his father and stabbed him in the stomach as well. Relatives/bystanders were able to intervene and subdue Benjamin until police showed up. Luckily, both of his parents survived the attack.

Benjamin was taken to the hospital upon his arrest for the injuries that he sustained during the struggle with both Olivia and his parents. On February 13th, 2018, he was arraigned from his hospital bed. Benjamin pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Jury selection was supposed to begin on March 28th, 2022—but Benjamin decided to accept a plea deal. He ultimately pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of Olivia Bergstrom, and he also pleaded guilty to assaulting his parents. The judge sentenced Benjamin to life in prison, but as part of the plea deal, he will have the right to seek parole after serving 25 years.

A motive for Olivia’s murder and for the attack on Benjamin’s parents has not been disclosed. Family members state that Benjamin was struggling with substance abuse and had just begun to seek treatment for some mental health issues before the tragic events took place. It is believed that he was also intoxicated on both drugs and alcohol when he killed Olivia and attacked his parents.

Both Olivia’s parents and Benjamin’s parents were consulted before the plea deal, and both sets of parents agreed to the case's outcome.

The Disappearance of Stacey Lynch

Stacey Lynch has been missing since December 23rd, 2020. The then-19-year-old was last seen at his grandmother’s residence in Talladega, Alabama. Stacey left the residence in the evening after saying he was going to meet up with someone. He never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.

Stacey’s loved ones began to worry when they were unable to contact him. Those fears escalated when Stacey did not return home for Christmas or New Years. It’s uncharacteristic for him to vanish without contacting his family—especially his young children. Knowing this, Stacey’s family members fear that somebody harmed him.

During March 2021, investigators went to another nearby county to follow up on leads. While there, investigators discovered a burned-out vehicle that might be related to Stacey’s disappearance. The Talladega Police Chief explained, “there is a vehicle that was recovered that was burned that we believe is connected with the case. As part of the investigation, there is some video from a surrounding area that shows portions of what happened with this vehicle, so investigators are going through that video.” Police have not revealed how they connected the vehicle to Stacey, or the contents of the video—likely because they want to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Stacey remains missing today. If you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts, please contact the Talladega Police Department at (256) 362-4162.

The Murders of Pamela & Helen Hargan

From left to right: Pamela Hargan, Helen Hargan, and Megan Hargan

Pamela Hargan (63) and her daughter Helen Hargan (23) were found shot to death in Pamela’s McLean, Virginia home on July 14th, 2017. When their bodies were first discovered by the Fairfax County police, it was believed the deaths were a murder-suicide. In fact, it was originally reported that Helen killed her own mother before turning the gun on herself. However, within days investigators found evidence that suggested that something else happened.

It was soon revealed that a man from Texas called the local Virginia authorities on the day of the shootings. This man was eventually identified as Helen’s boyfriend, Carlos. During said call, a police dispatcher was recorded saying, “Caller is third party. Says his girlfriend advised that her sister killed her mother.” This phone call suggests that Helen was alive for several minutes after Pamela was shot. Additionally, the phone call suggests that Helen was trying to hide from an attacker–as Pamela’s body was found in the downstairs laundry room, and Helen’s was found in an upstairs bedroom. Investigators eventually declared that Pamela and Helen had been murdered, and the crime scene had been staged to look like a murder-suicide.

For over a year, investigators did not reveal if Pamela’s older daughter/Helen’s older sister Megan Hargan (35) was a suspect or not. They did, however, reveal that Megan had attempted to make fraudulent wire transfers from Pamela’s financial account on the day of the murders. After several months of investigating, Megan was finally arrested and charged with the murders of her mother and sister in November 2018. Other relatives of the Hargans state that they are not surprised by Megan’s arrest at all. Pamela’s sister Tammy North said that she believes the murders were motivated by money and jealousy. Pamela had recently bought Helen a house that she was preparing to move into before she was killed. Tammy believes that Megan was jealous about this, as she and her 7 year-old daughter could not afford to move out of Pamela’s home.

Investigators have stated that this investigation is still ongoing and there may be more charges in the future.
-
UPDATE (March 28th, 2022):

Megan Hargan has been found guilty of murdering both her mother, Pamela Hargan, and her sister, Helen Hargan.

During the trial, the prosecution stated that money was the main motivation for the murders, especially since Megan was closing on a house in West Virginia. Shortly after Megan shot and killed Pamela, she went on the computer and attempted to transfer money from Pamela’s account to her own account.  Helen’s boyfriend testified to this, as he was reportedly on the phone with Helen at the time Pamela’s murder occurred. Helen’s boyfriend said he encouraged Helen to leave the house, but she was concerned about leaving her young niece—Megan’s daughter—behind. At some point after Helen and her boyfriend hung up the phone, Megan shot and killed Helen as well. She then placed the shotgun near Helen to make the deaths appear to be a murder-suicide.

Megan’s defense attorneys argued that Pamela’s and Helen’s deaths were, in fact, the result of a murder-suicide. However, the physical evidence proved otherwise. Helen was shot on the top of her head and had a wound that went straight down to her neck. The defense argued that Helen pulled the trigger herself using her toes. The prosecution argued that this would have been very difficult to pull off.

The jury ultimately sided with the prosecution and found Megan Hargan guilty on all counts. They have recommended that she be given two life sentences.

The Murder of Destiny Weaver

Destiny Weaver was found murdered inside her car on June 3rd, 2017. The 25-year-old lived in Kansas City, Missouri at the time of her death. Destiny worked as a youth counselor and also had her own business called Fonk'd OWT Tees and Wigz Split Hair Designs. Many knew Destiny as a smart and kind young woman. She maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her years in college and had a bright future in front of her. Destiny's loved ones are puzzled by her murder, and a motive remains unclear.

On the evening of June 3rd, two women were walking around Tower Park in the Waldo neighborhood when they noticed a woman--later identified as Destiny--slumped over inside a parked Kia Soul. One of the women actually recognized Destiny from the day before. The car had been parked in the exact same spot, and Destiny had been sitting in the car smoking a cigarette. It is believed that Destiny was killed a short time after she was spotted that afternoon. Once police arrived on the scene, they determined that Destiny died from a gunshot wound to the head. She had been dead for an entire day before she was spotted.

To this day, Destiny's killer remains unknown. According to her mother, Destiny did not have any known enemies. In 2017, Destiny's mother told reporters, "I just feel like whoever did this was someone probably close to her. Why I say that is because my daughter was very particular who she was around, who she hung with, who she built a relationship with." It seems likely that police have interviewed those who were in her life at the time of her death, but an arrest has still not been made. Investigators have also not publicly announced any suspects or persons of interest.

A nonprofit organization has been created in Destiny's memory called Justice 4 Destiny Inc. The purpose of the organization is to help the loved ones of homicide victims by sharing their stories and providing resources. A Facebook page for the nonprofit can be found here.

If you have any information that could help solve Destiny's murder, please contact the TIPS hotline 816-474-TIPS.

The Disappearance and Murder of Audreona Barnes

Audreona Barnes vanished in Cleveland, Ohio on July 30th, 2021. The 18-year-old had aspirations of joining the Army, and on the day she was last seen, she met up with US Army Recruiters. After their meeting, the recruiters dropped Audreona off at her boyfriend’s apartment in Cleveland. Her family members expected her home that evening, but she never returned home. Audreona’s family members later reported her missing.

Throughout the investigation, police spoke with Audreona’s boyfriend Bennie Washington. Washington is over 20 years older than Audreona, and he was the last known person to have seen her before she vanished. Initially, police did not find any reason to suspect Washington, and it appears that his home was not searched.

Washington was evicted from his residence on March 11th, 2022. Six days later, an employee from a cleaning company was sent to the residence. While clearing out the apartment’s balcony, the employee found the body of a female hidden under a pile of clothes. Police were called, and the body was eventually identified as that of Audreona Barnes. She died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police then began looking for Washington. At some point, police spotted him in a nearby neighborhood, but he ran from the officers and was able to evade arrest. However, he was finally found on March 21, 2022, and charged with Audreona’s murder.

source:oxygen.com

Police believe that Washington shot and killed Audreona before hiding her body outside under the clothes to hasten decomposition. Audreona’s body had been there for months, but apparently no outsiders reported a foul smell or anything else suspicious.

This is not the first time Washington has been in trouble with the law. In 2019, he was accused of raping a 3-year-old girl. In 2010, he reportedly shot and wounded a woman over a $40 cocaine debt. Washington was sentenced to 7 years for that shooting. He is currently behind bars while his murder charges are pending.

The Disappearance of Wojciech Fudali

Wojciech Fudali vanished at the age of 22 on December 6th, 2008. Wojciech was born in Poland, but his family moved to the United States when he was young. He grew up in Massachusetts but was living in Rhode Island at the time of his disappearance. Months before he went missing, Wojciech graduated from University of Rhode Island with a degree in international business.

Wojciech decided to stay in Rhode Island after graduating. He lived with friends in an apartment in Newport. According to said friends, Wojciech began behaving strangely in the days leading up to his disappearance. He had been prescribed anti-anxiety medicine but had stopped taking the pills. Wojciech’s roommates also said that he had become very interested in religion and nature before his disappearance. He began reading the Bible frequently and he would also often leave the home under-dressed for the weather.

About a week before his disappearance, Newport police were called after Wojciech was spotted walking along Cliff Walk with a Bible in his hand. The officers that responded found him wearing pajamas but no shoes. However, the officers ultimately determined that Wojciech seemed fine, so they did not direct him to a hospital or a doctor of any sort.

On the evening of December 5th, 2008, Wojciech attended a party at a friend’s home in Narragansett. He ended up staying the night at the residence. Around 5:00 AM, other partygoers were awakened by Wojciech hitting himself with the pole from a bedframe and repeatedly saying “trust me”. Wojciech’s friends attempted to calm him down before going back to sleep. When his friends woke up hours later, Wojciech was gone. The clothing he was wearing was folded neatly on the floor. His personal items, including his car keys, cell phone, debit card, and cash were all left behind. Wojciech’s friends thought he went for a walk and would be back soon. When he did not return by 1:30 PM, Wojciech’s friends called police.

After Wojciech was reported missing, investigators learned that he had been spotted twice after leaving his friend’s house. Around 8:30 AM that morning, neighbors saw a man matching Wojciech’s description sitting naked at a dock. Then, around 10:30 AM, a different witness saw Wojciech running naked near Galilee Bird Sanctuary. This is the last confirmed sighting of Wojciech, and he has never been seen or heard from again.

Temperatures were below freezing on the day that Wojciech disappeared. Since he was not properly attired outside, it’s unlikely that he would survive very long. However, investigators were unable to locate Wojciech--dead or alive. He remains missing today.

If you have any information that could help locate Wojciech, please contact the Narragansett Police at 401-789-1091.

The Murder of Owachige Osceola

Owachige Osceola (27) was found murdered in her Norman, Oklahoma apartment on September 25th, 2013. Owachige's loved ones requested a welfare check at the young mother's home after they were unable to get ahold of her. When police arrived at the home, the door was open. Inside, they found Owachige's body. Her exact cause of death remains unclear, but manner of death has been labeled as a homicide.

Owachige was found deceased after a series of suspicious events. On September 24th, 2013, Owachige called 9-1-1 and indicated that she was in distress. The call disconnected, and when operators called back, a woman answered and said the previous call was a mistake. As a result, police were not sent to the home. That same day, a status update was posted to Owachige's Facebook page that said "Moose is trying to K.M." It is believed that K.M. is an abbreviation for "kill me".

After Owachige's body was found, police discovered that someone had used her debit card that same day--after Owachige was already deceased. Both her debit card and cell phone were missing from the murder scene. It seems likely that whoever used Owachige's debit card is responsible for her murder. According to Owachige's friend Cassandra Mejia, Owachige received a paycheck towards the end of each month. Cassandra believes that whoever killed Owachige was aware of the impending payment and wanted that money.

Police eventually identified the man referred to as "Moose" on Owachige's Facebook. He has since been ruled out as a suspect. Owachige's ex-husband has been ruled out as well. Since then, the case has gone cold.

There is currently a $40,000 reward in place for anyone with new information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for Owachige's death. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please go here to submit a tip.

The Disappearance of Kaitlynn Munson

image source: National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

Kaitlynn Munson has been missing since January 21st, 2019. She was only 14 years-old when she vanished, but she had already been through many hardships in her life. Kaitlynn's parents both passed away, leaving her in the care of the state of Washington since she was just 11 years old. At the time of her disappearance, Kaitlynn was living at the Spruce Street Inn--a group home for at-risk youth in Seattle.

On the day she went missing, Kaitlynn walked away from the group home and never returned. Shortly after she was reported missing, there were various sightings of her around the Seattle area--but these sightings were never confirmed. Since then, there have been no other reported sightings of Kaitlynn.

It is believed that Kaitlynn left the group home voluntarily, however due to her young age and developmental disabilities, she is considered to be at risk. She is described as 5'8" and approximately 120 lbs. When she vanished, she had brown hair and wore glasses.

The picture on the right is an age-progressed photo and may reflect what Kaitlynn looks like today. If you have seen her or have any other information that could lead to her whereabouts, please contact the Seattle Police Department at 206-625-5011.

The Disappearance of Karissa Schell

Karissa Schell vanished at the age of 16 on April 21st, 2011. The young teen lived in Turlock, California at the time of her disappearance. Karissa was living with friends during the spring of 2011. She left her friend's residence between 2:00 and 3:00 AM on April 21st. Karissa reportedly said she'd be back later that morning, but she never returned.

Once Karissa was reported missing, the police labeled her as a runaway--even though she had no prior history of running away. Although she was staying with friends, she reportedly had a good relationship with her family at the time of her disappearance. Karissa also was an avid social media user but has not updated her Facebook page since the day she vanished. It's unclear why, exactly, police were so quick to classify Karissa as a runaway, but it appears that they had some sort of evidence to suggest that she left on her own accord.

Over a decade has passed since Karissa disappeared, and there is still very little information available about her case. Due to her classification as a runaway, it's likely that Karissa's case did not receive as much attention as other missing persons cases. However, there are various postings on social media that may contain clues about what happened to her.

-Continued from Tumblr:

Like many teenagers during the late 2000s-early 2010s, Karissa was very active on Facebook. The postings on her Facebook page suggest that she was into the drugs/drinking/partying scene. In fact, just hours before her disappearance, she posted a status update stating, "its a gresat [sic] day im fucked up".

This post is just one of many that indicates Karissa was using drugs and drinking regularly. These posts inevitably lead one to theorize that drugs were possibly involved in Karissa's disappearance. Maybe Karissa left her friend's residence to meet up with a drug dealer, and it ended badly. Maybe she suffered an overdose. It appears neither option has been ruled out, but if either theory ended up being true, it would directly contradict police's belief that Karissa ran away.

On April 18th, 2011, Karissa posted that she was in the hospital. When someone commented to ask why, Karissa replied, "Dizzy and double vision shaking.cant stand or walk."

Karissa did not post any follow-ups about her hospital visit, but if she was suffering from some sort of medical issues, it's possible that this plays a role in her disappearance as well. Still, if Karissa died from some sort of medical emergency after leaving her friend's residence, it seems likely that her remains would have been found. Additionally, this would also contradict the belief that Karissa ran away.

Five days before Karissa's disappearance, she posted her cell phone number to her Facebook page. Someone commented on the post stating that she was going to "get a stalker" after posting her number.

While it appears the person who commented was joking around, it is completely possible that Karissa posting her number publicly could have made her more accessible to the wrong people. Statistics have shown that sex traffickers often find their victims online.  By posting her number to her Facebook page, Karissa could have potentially given a trafficker direct access to her. Traffickers often groom their victims to gain the victim's trust before trafficking them. If Karissa did, in fact, run away, it's possible that she was lured away by a trafficker or someone else with the wrong intentions.

After Karissa vanished, her mother Michelle Renee Schell began a Facebook page to spread awareness about Karissa's disappearance. In 2016, Michelle shared a picture of a young girl who she believed was Karissa.

It's unclear where Michelle found this image, or if police have worked to identify whether or not the person in this image is Karissa. It's also unclear when this picture was taken, but Michelle's post suggests that it was taken/posted online after Karissa's disappearance.

Michelle also wrote several other posts criticizing the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Turlock Police Department for their lack of effort in investigating Karissa's case. In October 2017, she wrote, "Time to call National Center for Missing and Exploited. I dread calling them. They don't know how to do an age progressed photo! Also found out that Turlock Police station was suppose to give use our karissas [sic] phone records. Of course the detective never did. Had he listened to me she might have been found. At the time that she went missing I had her phone pinged. It showed she was in Redwood City, California. I told the detective right away and he just made excuses and blew it off!! It angers me to no end!!!!!"

Turlock and Redwood City are approximately 106 miles away from each other. Additionally, Redwood City is part of San Mateo County--an area that where sex traffickers are not uncommon. If Karissa's phone was actually in Redwood City, this would support the theory that Karissa was potentially trafficked.

It appears that the Facebook page run by Michelle has not been updated since 2020, but another Facebook page dedicated to Karissa's disappearance was active as recently as August 2021. In April 2021, said Facebook page shared a screenshot of direct messages from a journalist at the Turlock Journal.

It's worth noting that the information provided in this direct message has not been publicly confirmed. The author on the Facebook page does not believe the details in these messages to be true. In response to these DMs, the author wrote, "I do NOT understand why Turlock Journal is responding to people and saying that Karissa Alline Schell has been seen in the local area and does NOT wish to be found, these claims are false and inaccurate as well as inappropriate and someone should be disciplined accordingly.  Also I do NOT understand why TPD is not in regular contact with the mother in regards to the case. They have failed Karissa Alline Schell by passing her case off as a runaway there is no evidence that supports such claims. Karissa had no reason to run away."

Despite all of these postings of rumors and speculation, it appears that there has not been any substantial evidence of Karissa's whereabouts since she disappeared. She remains missing today.

If you have any information that could help locate Karissa, please contact the State of California Department of Justice here.

The Murder of Anita Knutson

Anita Knutson (18) was brutally murdered inside her own apartment on June 3rd, 2007. Anita was a freshman at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota at the time of her death. She lived with a roommate near campus, but she always stayed in touch with her family. On June 4th, 2007, Anita’s father grew worried after learning she had not contacted any of her siblings or anyone else in her family for over a day. Knowing her roommate was out of town for the weekend, Anita’s father asked her apartment’s manager to let him into the apartment. The manager let him in, and when he entered the apartment, Anita’s father found a horrific scene. Anita was dead, she had been stabbed to death in her own bedroom.

It appears that Anita was killed by someone who had broken into her home. The apartment’s front door was locked, but the screen on Anita’s bedroom window had been slashed and pushed out of the frame—suggesting that the killer had entered through said window. Nothing was missing from the apartment. Police believe that Anita had been dead for about a day before she was found.

Police initially had many leads to follow. They investigated apartment maintenance workers, Anita’s friends from school, and various people who were seen in the area around the time of Anita’s murder. Unfortunately, nothing panned out. Since then, leads have been very scarce, and Anita’s case has gone cold.

Anita’s family members are devastated by her death, and by the fact that her murder still remains unsolved today. Anita’s brother unfortunately committed suicide in 2013—six years after her murder. Anita’s family members are still hoping to one day receive justice in the case. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact the Minot Police Department at (701) 852-0111.
-
UPDATE (March 2022):
An arrest has been made in Anita's case.

The Minot Police Department announced on March 16th that they arrested 34-year-old Nichole Rice in connection with the murder of Anita Knutson. Nichole was Anita's roommate at the time of the murder.
While it was originally reported that Anita's roommate was out-of-town when Anita was killed, it appears that police have since found evidence that suggests otherwise.

This case is currently unfolding--more updates are expected.

The Disappearance of Bradley Wayne Allen

Bradley Allen has been missing since July 18th, 2017. At the time of his disappearance, the then-38-year-old lived with his girlfriend, Megan Coady, and their young son. Their residence is in Fountain Hill, Arkansas, on a twenty-acre property that belongs to Bradley’s family. Many other members of Bradley’s family live on the property as well.

Bradley vanished during early-morning hours after he and his girlfriend Megan reportedly got into an argument. According to Megan, Bradley decided to go for a walk around 3:00 AM so he could cool off and get some fresh air. Megan reportedly went to sleep after Bradley left, and when she woke up the next morning, he had still not returned. Bradley has never been seen or heard from again.

Megan notified Bradley’s cousin, Jennifer Davidson, that Bradley had not come home. The two searched for Bradley around the property before eventually going to talk to Bradley’s sister, Angie Allen-Clavet. Angie was living on the family’s property as well, but unfortunately, she had not seen or heard from Bradley.

Bradley’s worried loved ones were told that they needed to wait three days before they could file a missing person’s report. They spent the next three days searching and contacting Bradley’s employers, coworkers, and friends to no avail. While searching for him, it was noted that he had left his wallet and his bank cards behind. The only item Bradley left the house with was his cell phone, which had either died or been turned off.

Bradley was finally reported as missing on July 21st, 2017. Police interviewed all individuals living on the 20-acre property and received their statements. Investigators also searched the property, but reportedly did not find any clues. Both cadaver dogs and track dogs were brought to the property as well. The track dogs reportedly tracked Bradley’s scent for several miles before his scent was eventually lost. Police also obtained a search warrant for Bradley’s cell phone records. The records showed that all activity on Bradley’s phone stopped shortly after he left his home on July 18th.

It is uncharacteristic for Bradley to be out-of-touch with his loved ones, especially his children. However, about a month before his disappearance, Bradley reportedly had a falling out with his parents, sister, and brother-in-law. It’s unclear if investigators believe this is related to his disappearance or not. So far, no persons of interest have been identified in the case.

The Ashley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Bradley’s disappearance. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please call 870-853-2040.

The Disappearance of Alex LaRussa

Alex LaRussa vanished at the age of 25 on December 8th, 2017. Alex went missing just a few months after moving from Great Bend to Salina, Kansas. In July 2017, he injured his leg and ultimately ended up having it amputated. After this injury, he decided to move to Salina to be closer to his family. Alex began using a wheelchair but was also still able to drive and was seen out-and-about on the day he disappeared.

Before vanishing, Alex visited his mother and went to a local Wal-Mart. The last known sighting of him occurred on 9:30 PM on December 8th in the area of Iron and Ohio. He never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.

On January 14th, 2018, Alex’s car was found abandoned on a farm in New Cambria, Kansas. Many of his personal items were found inside the vehicle, including his wheelchair, clothing, and cell phone. New Cambria is approximately seven miles away from Salina. It’s unclear why Alex’s car ended up in that area, or if he even drove it there himself.

Police have not revealed much about the investigation into Alex’s disappearance, but they have said that they believe someone out there knows exactly what happened to him. He remains missing today. If you have any information that could lead to his whereabouts, please contact the Salina Police Department and 785-826-7210.

The Disappearance and Murder of Greta Tim

Greta Tim (14) disappeared from her home in Irvington, New Jersey on July 27th, 2008. The teen girl had run away a few times in the past, but she always returned to her home on Breakenridge Terrace. Police in Irvington would always question Greta after she returned home, but she would not reveal much information about where she went or what she did while she was missing.

Greta was reported missing again by her mother on August 1st, 2008--three days after she was last seen. Due to her history of leaving on her own accord, Greta was classified as a runaway by police. After more and more time passed without any sign of Greta, she was reclassified as an endangered missing person.

Nearly four years later, on April 12th, 2012, landscapers found human remains stuffed into a plastic bag in a desolate area of Parsippany, New Jersey--located approximately 20 miles from Irvington. Two months later, the remains were positively identified as that of Greta Tim. Her death was labeled a homicide.

Police believe that Greta was killed in a different location before her body was dumped in Parsippany. Very little details about the investigation are available, and no suspects have been publicly identified.

Greta's murder case remains open today. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact the contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at (973) 285-6200.

The Disappearance and Presumed Murder of Meta Valentine

Meta Valentine has been missing since October 28th, 2014. The then-42-year-old woman was last seen in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The last contact Meta had with her family members was on the evening of October 28th, when she spoke with her mother on the phone. According to her mother, Meta was "speaking in riddles" and was difficult to understand during their conversation. After they hung up, Meta was never seen or heard from again.

Meta was very involved in her local church and also very close to her family members. Meta's loved ones immediately began to worry when she did not show up to a planned family function or to her scheduled Bible study. It was uncharacteristic for Meta to skip out on events without telling anyone, and it was especially uncharacteristic for her to be out of touch with her children. Meta's family members reported her missing on October 30th.

Within weeks of the investigation, police identified a man named Reginald McDowell as a person of interest in Meta's disappearance. Reginald is the father of one of Meta's three children, and he and Meta had an on-and-off relationship. Reginald has a history of violence and their relationship has a rocky past. In 1999, while Meta was dating a different man, Reginald reportedly kidnapped, robbed, and shot at the couple. He was eventually arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count each of first-degree burglary and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Reginald McDowell

In 2001, Reginald was sentenced to 15 years for those charges. However, he only ended up serving about 10 years and was released in 2011. Upon his release, Meta and Reginald renewed their romantic relationship. Their relationship lasted until October 11th, 2014, when Meta decided to break up with him. Their break-up occurred just two weeks before she vanished.

While police investigated Meta's disappearance, they looked at surveillance footage from her apartment building. Footage from the evening of October 28th, 2014 captured Meta walking towards her unit. Just a few seconds later, a man is seen running after her. Police immediately believed that the man in the footage was Reginald.

Police stated that Reginald initially cooperated with the investigation, but then he eventually stopped speaking with them. He continued to be the only suspect in the case. Finally, in 2018, police charged Reginald with first-degree kidnapping and murder in Meta's case. However, despite these charges, Reginald has still not been arrested. Police have not been unable to locate or contact Reginald since the charges were filed. It is believed that he is on the run.

There has been very little news on Meta's case since 2018. As of today, it appears that police are still seeking Reginald's whereabouts. Despite the murder charges, Meta's body has still not been found.

If you have any information that could lead to Reginald's arrest or to Meta's whereabouts, place contact Fayetteville authorities at (910) 549-7326.

The Murder of Curtisia 'Courtney' Smith

Curtisia 'Courtney' Smith was shot numerous times at point-blank range in Boynton Beach, Florida on April 5th, 2017. The 26-year-old died from her injuries 12 days later. There were numerous witnesses to Courtney's murder, but her killer still walks free today.

Courtney dealt with harassments, threats, and violence during the time leading up to her death.  Just months before, she filed a restraining order against a woman who had reportedly sent her death threats. The court documents also state that Courtney was attacked by the woman's family. Police have not revealed if the woman or any other individuals listed in the restraining order were involved in her death. According to locals, said woman has since died.

On the day she was killed, Courtney met up with a group of people at Boynton Beach's Z Food and Meat Market on North Seacrest Boulevard. Courtney was waiting outside for pizza that she had ordered when a man with a covered face approached her and shot her several times in the legs, neck, and chest. As this was happening, a man named Jervaughn Ewell broke into Courtney's house and stole thousands of dollars' worth of items. It appears that Courtney was lured out of her house to the market so her house could be broken into while she was not home.

The market's surveillance cameras captured Courtney's murder.  The footage showed the shooter talking with a man, later identified as Roderick Taylor, just a few minutes before the shooting. The camera captured Taylor and the shooter fleeing the scene shortly afterward. Police arrested Taylor once they were able to positively identify him as one of the men in the footage. He was charged with second degree murder and possession of a firearm as a felon.

After Taylor was arrested, it seemed that Courtney's loved ones were on the path to getting justice for Courtney. Unfortunately, this would end up being far from the truth.

--

Three days after Roderick Taylor's arrest, a 30-year-old man was arrested on first-degree murder charges in connection with Courtney's case. Three separate witnesses had reportedly told police that this man was the person who shot Courtney. However, less than 12 hours after his arrest, the charges were dropped. Police stated that they found evidence that ruled this man out as the shooter.

Although those charges were dropped, Taylor's second-degree murder charges remained--until 2020, when he accepted a plea deal. Taylor ultimately pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm in relation to Courtney's case, and he also pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence in relation to a different case.

As part of this plea deal, Taylor also agreed to testify against any others potentially involved in Courtney's murder. Since he accepted the plea deal, the second-degree murder charges were dropped. Taylor received credit for the days he had already spent behind bars, so he was released just days after the plea deal was accepted. He was subsequently sentenced to five years' probation.

Although Taylor agreed to testify against any others who might get charged in Courtney's case, it appears that Taylor has not offered any valuable information about these potential others. Either that, or police simply do not have enough evidence to arrest any potential others. To date, the only other person who has been arrested in the case was the man whose charges were dropped less than a day later.

Courtney's loved ones are still hoping to one day receive justice. Courtney's mother Jacqualine Smith is quoted in a 2021 article, saying that "so many people know what happened", but nobody is speaking up. Jacqualine also agrees that Courtney was likely set up. She stated that before the murder, Courtney's "so-called friends asked to hang out with them over and over." When Courtney finally did agree to meet up with them, she was killed.

Over $25,000 has been raised as reward money for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of Courtney's killer. Courtney's loved ones hope that this money will be an incentive for someone to come forward. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please go here to submit a tip.

The Suspicious Death of Mai Ker Thao

On October 19th, 2016, police in Sacramento, California were alerted after a transient woman was seen walking along Connie Drive while carrying a human skull on a stick. After police confronted the woman, she led them to an abandoned homeless camp on Crosby Way. There, police found additional human remains that matched the skull. After crime scene investigators scoured the area, detectives began working to identify the remains.

It took nearly two years, but in August 2018, the remains were positively identified as 26-year-old Mai Ker Thao. While her exact cause of death has not been revealed, it appears her case is being investigated as a homicide. Around the time Mai Ker's remains were identified, various reports were published that stated investigators were still trying to piece together the events that led to her death. Sacramento Police Detective Scot Krutz is quoted saying, "we’re trying to find out what she was doing and who she was with the last week of her life, and that’s our missing place in her timeline."

According to family members, Mai Ker was struggling prior to her death. Mai Ker's sister said that she changed after suffering a miscarriage. After that, Mai Ker began to distance herself from her family. Mai Ker's family members now are hoping that detectives will find answers as to what happened.

In 2018, detectives also stated that they were looking into the transient woman who was seen carrying Mai Ker's skull as a person of interest. It's unclear if the woman is still being investigated at this point. Mai Ker's case remains unsolved.
